WHALERS COVE
I spent multiple summers on a small island in Alaska, called Killisnoo, documenting a fishing lodge and the humpback whales that passed nearby. It felt almost unreal. There were no cars, no roads, no stores. The only way to get there was by float plane. The days stretched beneath a sky that never quite grew dark; salt air and spruce scented the mornings, and the water changed with every shift in the light.
